Fred Young began on Voice, the Piano at age 4, the Trumpet at age 11. Graduated Colonie Central H.S. 1963. All-State 1963 (Solo 2nd Trumpet) 6-A voice and Trumpet NYSSMA 1963. Attended SUNY Fredonia ;Opera, College Choir,Big Band. 8 years, Lead Trumpet Princess Cruises,4 years San Diego Chargers Band, Hal Crook Big Band, Side man for: Patti Page,Charo, Lou Rawls, Rosemary Clooney, Lena Horn, Ana Kani, Peter Marshall, Frankie Laine, Danny Ganes, Cliffton Davis, and others. Jazz : Daniel Jackson, Jimmy Noone, Charles Mc Pherson, Dave Valentine, Richy Cole, Louis Gasca,Machito,Rodney Jones,Ira Sullivan and many more... Playing 48years+ Trumpet. Flugelhorn, Voice and Novice Drummer. I returned to my Home Town after A 32 year period and Have been Playing with Alex Torres for the last 12 years, And various Wedding Bands , Jazz Gigs,As a Sub for various Bands in the area.
