Kaitlyn is a multi-faceted musician with one foot in the world of classical music and the other in the world of jazz. Her musical training began with classical flute, pursuing the instrument from age nine through her Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Elon University. Since 2004, Kaitlyn has been playing baritone saxophone in community, university, and professional jazz bands, including New Jersey's newest boundary-pushing jazz band Big Beat. While earning her Master's degree in Jazz Voice Performance from William Paterson University, Kaitlyn's Ella Fitzgerald Tribute Quintet opened for Bucky Pizzarelli in 2013. After relocating to the Capital Region, Kaitlyn is teaching band, chorus, and general music at Schuylerville Middle School. |
