Kevin Hendrick

Kevin began playing trumpet at the age of 12 and was playing professionally by the age of 15. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the College of St. Rose in 1991. As a trumpet player, he has worked with many bands over the years in a wide range of musical styles.

Kevin was with the Grammy nominated Alex Torres y Los Reyes Latinos Orchestra for over 10 years as a trumpet player, writer and arranger, with several compositions hitting the charts of "Latin Beat Magazine" in NYC and Miami. He has also played and written for The Joey Thomas Big Band, co-writing two songs for that band which will be featured in the film "G-Pas". Other groups he has worked with include The New York Players, Jay & The Americans, Out of Control, Supa Kumba, Mundo Nuevo, The Refrigerators, Cryin' Out Loud and others.

Kevin has had the opportunity to work with musicians from all over the world while a member of various cruise ship bands including those of Carnival Cruise Lines and the world famous QEII. This fall he will be playing for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines throughout the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

On the home front, Kevin is currently putting together his own jazz/funk group known as The Bartlett Street Project, and is a regular member of Brass-O-Mania, Conjunto Maximo Sabor and The Mix. In addition, his sight-reading ability has given him the opportunity to do alot of freelance work for the local music scene.

Kevin has also been laying down bass tracks for an area native currently based in Phoenix, Mike Gonzales of Aftertax, for a CD to be released later this year. He also writes and records his own music, and frequently writes arrangements for the bands he performs with. Kevin remains active in the music education field as a private instructor.
