Micah Stratton
trombone

Strattmh190@potsdam.edu

In the fall of 2006 Micah Stratton took the 3rd trombone seat in the Crane
School of Music’s Jazz band. As a classical tubist he had no prior
knowledge of the trombone, and gave meaning to the phrase ‘trial by fire’.
He has contributed to the live music scene in Potsdam on both tuba and
trombone and will complete his Music Education degree in May of 2010. His sound and style have the color and imagination that only a tubist could bring to jazz. Stratton’s resume is dominated by prestigious orchestral and wind ensemble experience, but his passion unwaveringly remains in the Jazz, Latin, Blues and Funk idioms. Influences include Harry Watters, Curtis Fuller and Robin Eubanks.
