Peg Delaney
piano

www.pegdelaney.com

Peg Delaney plays sophisticated piano jazz, drawing from American, Latin and Brazilian idioms. The trio adds Bill Delaney on upright bass and features fine, poignant vocals by drummer Earl Davis. Peg also plays in solo and duo contexts, with larger combos, multiple singers, various horns and guitar. Peg, with the trio, is proud to announce the release of their new CD entitled IF I HAD YOU . A wonderful collection that pays homage to seldom heard melodic gems and jazz standards. Earl's warm voice illuminates the beauty of the ballads and the snap of the swing. The fine arrangements by Peg create a rich piano and bass texture to cushion the vocals and delight listeners.

Peg has been a two-time recipient of the New York State Council for The Arts: Meet the Composer Grant and was semifinalist in the Musician Magazine Best Unsigned Band Competition.

Her transcription book of Nick Brignola Solos is sold internationally by Jamey Aebersold and has appeared in the Saxophone Journal. It is on the New York State Music Teachers Association adjudication list, and is recognized by the National Jazz Educators Association. Peg recently was awarded the Swingtime Lifetime Achievement Award as pianist and educator.
