The Doc Scanlon Trio plays the great standards of Gershwin, Berlin and Cole Porter as well as the jazz of Django Reinhardt, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman. This is a versatile group with that will play with an unbeatable combination of taste and talent. Doc Scanlon, a well-known figure in Capital District music circles, has traveled up and down the East Coast of the USA to great acclaim. Together for almost 30 years, his larger combo has also completed international tours that have taken them to Russia, Finland's prestigious Pori Jazz Festival and have performed at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

Doc Scanlon plays bass and sings lead vocals on material that ranges from Fats Waller to early Bing Crosby to Jump Blues classics. Joining Doc is Don Young, a multi-talented guitarist-vocalist-banjoist-ukuleleist who holds down the rhythm with his Django influenced style as well as being a terrific singer. The icing on the cake is clarinetist Dan Levinson, one of the acknowledged masters of his instrument. Dan has and continues to tour worldwide doing his recreations of Benny Goodman, and the influences of early Jazz from Jelly Roll Morton to Artie Shaw are always apparent in his playing. Dan has also been known to pick up the tenor saxophone and fire out some ripping rhythm and blues.
