The Sunny Side of the Street Band hails from Albany, NY and formed on Lark Street in the spring of 2011. They are an acoustic four-piece, vocally driven band, consisting of Thomas LaFond on vocals and acoustic guitar, Dylan Perrillo on vocals and upright bass, Bryan Brundige on vocals and trombone and Brandon Isles on vocals and drums.

Sunny Side is part swing, gypsy, blues, folk, country/gospel, and play mostly original music, as well as arrangements that span from the 1920s to today. They have had the opportunity to play sold out shows opening for Floodwood (featuring members of moe.) and Conehead Buddha. Sunny Side has also played at Jah Fest, Bella Terra Music Festival, and The People’s Gathering V, as well as many street corners and corporate events.

The Sunny Side of the Street Band was voted “Best Old-Time Band” in Metroland’s “Best Of 2012”: “True to their name, the best place to catch the Sunny Side of the Street band is busking on some street corner—although their proper stage shows are nice too. It’s this timeless, hat-passing spirit that earns them an old-time honor here, more than the preservationist ethos that generally garners the term. We just think our grandparents could get down to these guys’ upright bass and trombone as well as we can.”
