Tony Berman is an active Upright Bassist, Electric Bassist, and Percussionist, residing in New York's Capital Region. Tony plays a wide variety of genres of music including: Jazz, Rock, Funk, and Classical. He has been playing music for over thirteen years, and is continually taking action to obtain a higher knowledge and skill in music. He has been seen playing around the capital district in groups such as: Arch Stanton Quartet, The Terry Gordon Quartet, New Regime, Efbom, and his personal groups: Shutter Jerks and The TB Heart Quintet.

Tony Berman was a 2009 graduate of Schenectady County Community College. Upon receiving an Associate’s degree in Music Performance: Electric Bass, he transferred to the State University of New York at Oneonta; where his focus shifted to Double Bass Performance. Tony received his Bachelor’s degree with the conclusion of the Spring 2011 semester.

While at SCCC, Tony studied Conducting and Music Theory under the guidance of Brett Wery, and Electric Bass with Michael Wicks. While at SUNY Oneonta Tony studied Double Bass with Rich Mollin, Jazz Theory with Bill Farrish, Drum Set with Blake Fleming, and Conducting with Dr. Julie Licata. He is currently studying upright bass with Christopher Neubert, and conducting with Dr. Dennis Johnston.

Tony has started Graduate studies at the College of St.Rose, in Albany, New York. He is working towards an M.S in Music Education.
